Red Cabbage Salad

The Red Cabbage is a sort of cabbage, also known as Red Kraut or Blue Kraut after preparation. Its leaves are coloured dark red/purple. |
Ingredients
- 1 head red cabbage
- 1 onion
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp celery seeds
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 cup oil
Methods/steps
- Shred cabbage and onion. Mix with sugar and set aside.
- Mix vinegar, salt, celery seeds, dry mustard and oil. Bring to a boil in sauce pan.
- Pour sauce pan mixture over cabbage and onion mixture. Let stand for 4 hours at room temperature uncovered.
- Cover and refrigerate for 2 days before serving.
