Applesauce

This recipe for applesauce will hit the spot. Try spooning it over oatmeal or pancakes.

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Bowl
  • pot
  • potato masher

Ingredients

  • 4 Medium Sized apples (peeled, cored and diced)
  • 3/4 cup Date Sugar or Pure Maple Syrup (Raw Sugar will work as well but use a full cup) 
  • 1 ½ Cups Filtered Water
  • ½ Teaspoon cinnamon for each serving

Methods/steps

  1. Bring water to a boil and add the sugar or syrup to dissolve completely. 
  2. Add the apples cover and simmer over med-low heat until tender. 
  3. Remove from heat. 
  4. Using a potato masher, crush the apples to a desired consistency. 
  5. For smoother applesauce push the mixture through a sieve. 
  6. Just before serving sprinkle a ½ teaspoon of cinnamon on top and enjoy.
