1. We invite kids age 7 to 18 to make your own cooking videos and send them to Jr. Chefs of America. If we like your video, we may put it on our website! (As long as you follow all our rules, of course.)
2. The video should be between 2 and 7 minutes long. It must be submitted on DVD. You must also submit ON PAPER, the tools you have used, the ingredients and the steps to prepare this recipe. You must submit a hard copy of the DVD and a hard copy (paper or electronic) of the text version of “HOW-TO” – no email submissions.
3. In your video, you should demonstrate how to prepare one simple, kid-friendly dish. Or you can give cooking tips, or anything at all related to food.
4. Always follow our basic kitchen safety rules – W-A-S-H: Wash all foods and utensils, Ask Permission, Straighten up your workspace, have fun! As a rule you should always incorporate other tips while instructing others like, being extra careful with knives and heat, and if you want, you can explain the steps that are most important when making your dish. Add in stories about the food or preparation to make it personal.
5. Have fun – the best videos will show us how much you like to cook, and inspire other kids to try cooking.
6. We want you to be safe on the Internet, and remember that everyone in the world will be able to see your video if it’s posted on www.jrchefsofamerica.com. Please be careful about not giving personal information – you can say your first name, but please do not give your last name or the location where you live.
7. Click here to get a copy of the Release form, which we need in order to use your video. Print it out, get your parents (or legal guardian) to read the release and these rules, and have them fill it out and sign it. You need to sign it too!
8. Mail the completed and signed Release form, along with a copy of your video to: Jr. Chefs of America 4130 Cahuenga Blvd #305 Universal City, Ca 91602
9. We’re sorry, but we cannot mail your videos back – once you mail them to us, they become our property. And we can’t answer questions about whether or when your video might be on the website.
10. We will review all video submissions, but we can’t promise that we will use your video on www.jrchefsofamerica.com. We will decide whether or not to use your video, how long we will make it available if we do use it, and everything else related to Jr. Chefs of America.
